Vancouver Sun in a rush to state the obvious
METRO VANCOUVER - If you don't have to be outside, don't even try to venture outside those front doors. Vancouver airport has seen about 17 centimetres of snowfall since last evening, and is due for another 10 centimetres by the end of day today.
West Vancouver police are warning drivers to stay away from the Upper Levels highway today, as officers are in the process are shutting it down.
The last of the vehicles already on the highway are getting through, and police will block off all access to the road until further notice.
Two substantial snowfalls within such a short time is a rare occurrence, according to Environment Canada meteorologist Mark Madryga, who forecasts weather conditions for Global BC.
"I haven't seen anything like this since January 1971," said Mark Madryga.
This will be the whitest Christmas on record as well, with an expectation of 40 to 45 centimetres on the ground by Thursday morning.
O get over it - snow is normal in BC - now I know why most immigrants stay in Vancouver ( They can't drive )
