Asian openings

The last couple of nights have been reliable for Asian DX, with Japan, South Korea, and China making appearances. In particular, China Radio International was heard on 1017 kHz with a very strong top of the hour ID once Friday morning near sunrise; an hour earlier the same recording showed time pips from both the Chinese station and a Japanese station on the same frequency. Voice was also heard from both stations at the same time. Yes, it's a case of trans-Pacific co-channel interference!

Sunset in Japan happened a short while ago and I'm hearing carriers from the strong stations. NHK Japan on 774 has faint audio as well as HBC Radio in Hokkaido on 1287. There's sometimes a carrier on 1566 even though South Korea is still in sunlight. I'm hoping it'll be an interesting night!
