Trans-Oceanic FM/TV DX

I quit AM DX'ing in 1971 in Burnaby, about a year before Seattle DX'er Bruce Portzer heard his first Trans-Atlantic DX: BBC from England and Radio Dakar from Senegal. Two new continents in one DX session!

So, over the last decade, I've been quite inspired by first, expectations, then actual reception of FM and TV DX across the Atlantic. Not by me, of course. But by anyone.

The following YouTube recording is apparently the first ever confirmed FM transatlantic reception: in this case, from Maine to Ireland in 2003.

Wikipedia indicates that the same Irish gentleman heard a second FM, from Watertown, NY. On the same day, a Scottish DX'er heard a CBC station in Newfoundland. Wikipedia claims that this day marked the first transatlantic reception of anything over 88 MHz.

Trans-Atlantic TV DX pre-dates this. In 1981, a DX'er from the Netherlands heard Channel 2 from Brazil. Wikipedia lists no details as to whether a picture was visible.

At first glance at the following, I thought the Wikipedia "above 88 MHz" claim was a red herring to eliminate this intriguing bit of U.K. reception on 87.7 MHz in 1999:

After a careful reading, I'm inclined to think the signal came from Europe.

Transatlantic TV DX is, of course, much easier as Channel 2 is down around 55 MHz which takes it almost into the Shortwave band:

East Coast U.S. from Portugal.

Transpacific FM and TV DX is also possible:

As you will see, all these receptions were in the 40-52 MHz area. Korea ran FM there in the '50s. And there also have been some TV channels there.

A careful read of this article indicates that Alaska FM's can sometimes be heard in Japan:
