Just got my copy of Scott Fybush's 2008 Tower Calendar. Front cover (shown) is KAST-AM Astoria. And its got the demolition of WOR-AM New York's towers. KFBK-AM Sacramento, which has perhaps the best conductivity in the country, even though it rests on an area of terrible ground conductivity. There is an almost eerie night-shot of Major Edwin Howard Armstrong's 425-foot, triple arm tower that he built in 1938 in New Jersey for his early FM experiments. A nice Blaw-Knox diamond tower of WBNS-1460 Columbus, Ohio, one of those stations you could hear sign-on Monday mornings at 2:30 a.m. Vancouver time -- 1460, 1470 and 1480 KHz were usually completely silent soon after midnight Sunday nights in the late 1960s. The original KBLA Burbank tower and those around them in the Verdugo Hills. KXLY-TV Spokane. And so much more. One pic per month and a few extras thrown in.
It's a fund raiser for Scott's web site, so the cost is $18, but that is U.S. funds, which is less and less every day, it seems. And it includes free shipping to the U.S. and Canada.
