FCC Corruption

The FCC is ducking for cover after two reports about the effects of media consolidation were leaked. The agency had conducted the studies after the 1996 Telecommunications Act that allowed the likes of Clear Channel to gobble up half the radio stations in the country. The FCCs own studies indicated that consolidation was bad for both radio and television but under Michael Powell employees were ordered to destroy all copies of the reports. The new chairman, Republican child puppet Keith Martin has ordered an investigation but claims to have no knowledge of either reports. Clear Channel is lobbying for even higher ownership caps and the FCC is likely to deliver them. I wonder if any similar studies have been done in Canada by the CRTC?
