I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but here goes: http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Rankin ... story.html The Rankin Family has to rate up there with one of BEST concerts I've ever attended. A truly talented family...

Oh that's sad. :( No more Rankin Family music. Except maybe for Jimmy. My condolences to the Rankins.

Great comments by Doug Thompson, legendary CHUM producer and Edmonton Broadcasters Club member:
Gosh, I must have interviewed The Rankin Family, Raylene, Cookie & Jimmie at least a dozen times over the years and they were always so very nice and friendly.

Jimmy was always fun, Cookie was the quietiest one and Raylene always had a great answer to any question I'd ask.

Very sad to hear.
