Mel West passes

Rehina 60s rocker Mel West (of Mel West & The Meteors) passed away this past weekend.

Mel was born on March 2, 1934 in Kamsack, SK and passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the age of 80 years in Regina, SK. Mel was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty); parents, Andrew and Annie; siblings, Paul, Walter, Mary, Bill, Steve, Tony and a sister in infancy. Mel is survived by his sons, Wade (Jacky), Bill (Cheryl); grandson, Steve Eisler; sisters Lena and Helen. Mel was a musician with the Happy Roaming Rangers, the founding member of Mel West and the Meteors Band, a dreamer of great things and very easy going. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Ave. E., Regina, SK with Cliff Geiger officiating. A come and go Celebration of Mel's Life will follow from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Paragon Funeral Services, 521 Victoria Ave., Regina, SK.
