Forget spending 50 smackers. Let's start our own list.

Play Misty For Me (1971)
American Hot Wax (1978)
FM (1978)
Radio Days (1987)
Pump Up The Volume (1990)
Talk to Me (2007)
Pirate Radio/The Boat That Rocked (2009)

More?

whadcha mean? You won't pay fifty smackers to get all that extra info from the academically pedantic Dr. Larry about the model and serial number of each piece of radio equipment used and each mistake made like the music playing when the tone arm is in the end grooves. Nah, that only happened on WKRP.

Here's a suggestion for a very short list: movies that get VU meters right.

Another one (although not a movie but required viewing instead):

Radio Revolution: The Rise and Fall of the Big 8 (2004)

One more highly biased vote for Radio Revolution: The Rise and Fall of the Big 8 (2004)

A production that belongs in the library of every single person in broadcasting .... (I warned you I'm unabashedly highly biased.)

Talk Radio (1988) Oliver Stone Director
A rude, contemptuous talk show host becomes overwhelmed by the hatred that surrounds his program just before it goes national.

Private Parts (1997)
The auto-biographical story of Howard Stern, the radio-rebel who is now also a TV-personality, an author and a movie star.

And another huge thumbs up for "The Big 8" documentary. A must see for anyone that's ever spent any time working in radio. I ordered mine directly from the production company that made it.
I'm sure they'll sell you one!

Most of it can be found on YouTube, but here's the segment we all like to recall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDCdbmwy9l8 as strained through the grille of a Buick.
