Clothing donation bins spark turf war in Ontario

Before Christmas there was some talk on the board about charities and their overhead and what really goes to those in need. Please read this story and you'll be aware of where your donations go.
Here in BC, The Diabetes Society doesn't make near what it should from the goods you donate to them in good faith. They sell clothing to Value Village by the pound and the VV makes the big profit
on it when it's resold. You'll notice Salvation Army Stores now charge tax, that is because they are no longer a not for profit operation. As well as reading the story, read the comments following the
story. It's an eye opener.

The only place myself and my friends now donate is to Hospital or Church Thrift Stores or Thrift Shops run by various Hospices or Shelters.

Much of the money does not go to charity
