Vancouver the Stupid

This is getting downright silly.
In the City of Vancouver we now have bus zones, taxi zones, bicycle parking, police parking, motorcycle parking, loading zones and street vendor slots.
Then there are handicapped parking spots and in shopping centres, I've seen "family parking" spots, (whatever that means) expectant mother parking spots, alternate fueled vehicle parking spots, etc., etc.
Where will the madness end?
Suggestions for other specific parking spots are welcomed.
Soon, the rest of us will be limited to circling the block, never stopping.

The "slippery slope" is a logical fallacy.

I've seen a few parking lots in Edmonton with Seniors parking spots. Some staff parking lots have an "Employee of the Month" spot.

Only things I see you have missed is what you find in Parkades: Small Car Only. And ones I see a lot of: Courier Parking only; Loading Zone; Commercial Loading Zone; Passenger Loading Zone; Transit Zone AKA Bus Stop.

Some transit parking lots here have Park and Ride, Paid Park and Ride, and Kiss and Ride.

Ah yes!
I remember on my last trip to the Seattle area, parking in the garage at Bellevue Centre where I pulled into a "small car only" spot (I drive a Honda Civic Coupe) and I was berated by a woman driving a monster SUV who claimed I had cheated her of a parking place.

In staff parking lots, there are often lots of labeled parking spots. The one I always look for, yet never find, is the most obvious: "First Person Here in the Morning".

Such a spot could never be marked. As someone who currently holds such a position, the spot is whichever I choose it to be. :)

Vancouver isn't the only place where the madness is.
