CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS
The CRTC has received applications for new commercial stations in Cochrane,ON and Iroquois Falls,ON. Other interested parties wishing to obtain a radio license in these cities are invited to submit applications. However the CRTC will also conduct a study during this process to determine whether these two markets are financially viable to support new commercial facilities.

My pal in Ottawa Ian passes on word that The Bear (CKQB) is running teasers on the air informing their listeners that they will become Virgin Radio on January 9th.

So, the schedule for the Virgin flips looks like this:
CKZZ 95.3 Vancouver - January 8th
CKQB 106.9 Ottawa - January 9th
CJFM 95.9 Montreal - January 12th
