Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Not much to report on Toronto-based The Extras. Before launching as a band, some members backed up the late BB (Nyet Nyet Soviet) Gabor. Like some other Canadian artists, The Extras had the bad fortune to issue a good record just as their label (Ready Records) collapsed.

That same fate befell Chilliwack...on three occasions! The Casino, Mushroom and Solid Gold labels all closed doors just as Bill Henderson and Co. brought forth strong albums. Following Mushroom’s collapse, Chilliwack was legally blocked from performing or recording for almost two years. Casino Records’ implosion left marquee act Susan Jacks in legal limbo even longer. After a few years, she recorded again. But it was only recently that she regained rights to her mid ‘70s Dreams album that included the hit Anna Marie.

All told, Myles Goodwyn of April Wine was so prescient when he sang Rock ‘n Roll Is A Vicious Game.

Enjoy The Extras.
