None other than the late Kurt Cobain was a huge fan of Where Evil Grows. Apparently references to the song and/or Kurt's appreciation of the Poppy Family made it into his diaries (which were published after the Nirvana frontman's death). Where Evil Grows only charted into the mid-levels of Billboard but had a fairly long run. I remember talking to Terry Jacks in that time period and he was excited that it was selling well in assorted American cities and allowing the group to be more than just a vehicle for Susan to interpret his songs.
