Great single and just as good an album (it was also called My Own Way To Rock). Just like his first solo album, titled Burton Cummings, it was produced by Richard Perry. Also notably, it marked the first reconciliation of Burton and ex-Guess Who collaborator Randy Bachman since the latter's bitter exit from the wheatfield rockers in 1970. Randy contributed amazing guitar and backup vocals to tracks such as Come On By and Charlemagne. Burton returned the favour by playing keyboards and harmonies on Randy's post-BTO solo album Survivor. Both LPs are worth tracking down for any dedicated prairie-pop enthusiast.
