Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

For a onetime Vancouver garage rocker (remember Just Don't by the Tom Northcott Trio?), young Tom sure got a prolonged tug at the brass ring when his New Syndrome label signed on with Warner Brothers Seven Arts.

For about three years, Tom was paired with Los Angeles studio aces such as Leon Russell and--on this track--Jack Nitzsche. Tom became a brilliant interpreter of compositions by such up-and-comers as Joni Mitchell, Randy Newman and--on The Rainmaker--Harry Nilsson. Glorious sounds, all.
