Who'd have thunk that Wolfman Jack would have twice been immortalized on vinyl by Canadian artists!
This 1975 outing by The Stampeders was preceded by Clap For The Wolfman by The Guess Who. Not surprisingly, both singles charted. (For The Guess Who, Clap For The Wolfman was their last Top 10 hit before Burton Cummings went solo.)
I'm not sure if Rich Dodson was still with The Stampeders by the time of Hit The Road Jack. In his absence, the band expanded into a four- or five-piece affair. But Dodson, Ronnie King and Kim Berly have long since reunited into their original trio formation.
