Great little blue eyed soul track from Dom.
He sadly died of cancer a few years back. Although he never fully grasped the brass ring, his career was far from shabby. An ace guitarist, he emerged from the Toronto '60s band Mandala to form Bush with vocalist Roy Kenner, bassist Prakash John and drummer Whitey Glan. Signed to Dunhill, Bush got a decent promo push and their single I Can Hear You Calling got lots of Canadian airplay. (It was later covered by Three Dog Night and, I believe, was a B-side for one of that band's mega hits.) Decades after Bush split, Troiano and his old mates successfully prevented English newcomers Bush from using that name when appearing in Canada.
After Bush, Troiano (and later Kenner) joined The James Gang following Joe Walsh's exit. Then Dom hooked up with The Guess Who for that band's final incarnation with Burton Cummings. (Interestingly, he had appeared on Axe, the solo instrumental album released in 1970 by then-Guess Who guitarist Randy Bachman.) Dancing Fool was the Guess Who's final Top 30 hit, displaying Dom's penchant for fusion/pop riffs. He also played and composed for his wife Shawne Jackson. Dom went on to a solo career and a long, successful stint writing and performing soundtracks for Canadian-made tv shows.
