Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1974 ... Joni Mitchell and "Raised On Robbery" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Saw her perform this in Montreal in 1974. She was touring with Tom Scott's LA Express and, if I recall, Robben Ford recreated the sizzling guitar leads that Robbie Robertson contributed to this Court and Spark single. Other than a cover of You're So Square (Baby I Don't Care), can't think of another Joni recording where she kinda rocked out.

Saw a recent photo of Joni and some musical pals attending a concert or arts event. She looked okay, so hopefully is recovering at least somewhat from the stroke that almost killed her.

Joni was staying at the Wedgewood Hotel on Hornby, sometime in mid-90s I think it was.
I spent 2 days chauffeuring Joni as she reunited with her long-lost daughter.
True honour.
Fond memories (for me but I doubt for the same reasons for them).lol
