Can-Con 45 Of The Day - August 21

Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1976 ... The Stampeders and "Playin' In The Band" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Funny how trumpets really make a simple song stand out. Johnny Cash proved it with Ring of Fire and the trick was still working here for the "Stamps". If memory serves they'd expanded from a trio to a five or six-piece group. I might be wrong, but think Rich Dodson had gone solo by this point. The original threesome of Rich, Ronnie King and Kim Berly have long since reunited and are working the retro circuit with so many of their '70s peers.
