Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1970 ... Tom Northcott and "Crazy Jane" from his Upside Downside LP ....

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

I liked the earlier New Syndrome logos, when it was affiliated with Warner Brothers 7 Arts. By the time Crazy Jane emerged the distribution had switched to Compo which, I'm guessing was a forerunner to MCA. After recording most of his hits in LA with promising Warner producers with songs written by upcoming tunesmiths like Harry Nilsson, Tom wrote this one himself. I seem to recall it was a tribute to his feisty sister. And I'm betting it was recorded at what became Studio One on either Tenth or Twelth Avenue by the brewery.

Anyone know what Tom is up to these days? After stints as a fisherman, lawyer and mediator, it would be great to hear him return to music.
