The associated information interests me more: 18 weeks is how long it lasted on Billboard.
That tells me that it was a regional hit in a number of U.S. markets, wandering its way through the Top 40 for four months or more at some stations, which usually means some Top 10 time, too.
Of course, it could mean it hit big and fizzled fast in a lot of markets, but at different times in that four month period.
Either way, it likely means that the song did well on a large minority of U.S. stations' Top 40 charts.
