Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1976 ... Stephen Stills and Neil Young, aka The Stills-Young Band and "Midnight On The Bay" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Talk about a star-crossed project!

What became the Stills-Young Band, started out as the long-awaited studio followup to Déjà Vu by CSN&Y. Alas, Stills and Young opted to erase harmonies from Crosby and Nash and venture forth as a duo.

A tour ensued. A few dates in, Young quit leaving a cryptic note for Stills to ponder WTF just happened. Stills opted to carry on (pun intended) fronting their band to complete the tour. Oh well, this song plus Long May You Run stand up pretty well, Lo these 42 years later.
