We’ve all become accustomed to seeing aging Canadian musical stars of the ‘70s and ‘80s earn decent money on the summer fairs/casinos circuit.
About a year ago, four CanCon vets thought outside the box. Marc Jordan joined forces with fellow popster Ian Thomas, folk troubadour Murray McLauchlan and country/folk chanteuse Cindy Church. They called their ensemble Lunch At Allen’s and toured mostly small theatres across the land.
Wonder how often they were asked: Who or where is Allen? I haven’t got a clue...but deeply regret missing their Victoria appearance. With the folkie blend, imagine Ian Thomas might have dusted off one of first singles Come The Son. As for Marc Jordan, Marina Del Ray would fit the mix...maybe as segue to intermission when folks could swish a Caribbean cocktail.
