Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Tomcat Prowl, the last Doug and The Slugs hit of any significance, was produced by the late Brian MacLeod (probably with his loyal dog Sailor under the studio console). Nicknamed “Too Loud” he and Doug Bennett first connected when the chief Slug directed videos for MacLeod’s band Headpins. As a graphic artist, Bennett had a knack for devising sightly storylines for videos.

MacLeod, who was also in Chilliwack during its peak years, died from cancer complications in 1992. Bennett fielded various versions of the Slugs until his death (on tour in Alberta) from liver failure in 2004.

Last I heard, original members including Tomcat Prowl co-writer John Burton (guitar) and Simon Kendall (keyboards) regrouped as Doug and The Slugs with Ted Okos as a non-Doug-named lead vocalist.
