If I was in the biz today and someone else had 'transcribed' my story for the web, you can bet I'd be checking on it to make sure it was done correctly.

This is radio... with reporters rushing to meet hourly deadlines with their next story for the next newscast.

The name on the byline of a report that is broadcast on radio news is not necessarily the name of the person who had transcribed that same report into print for publication on the website.

A reporter is only as good as his next story. The last news story he filed is now history.

What a great thread. Is this not what the message board for broadcasters is all about?

So far pretty friendly. I won't comment further as I believe I have made my points.

Yes. It could well be seen as such, but it is not necessarily so.

It could be transcribed into print with a keyboard. It could be transcribed into hand-written text. It could be transcribed into a different language. It could even be transcribed from one method of recording to another... from analog to digital, for example.

It depends on how pedantic you want to be.
