Anyone else playing Lotto max?

Anyone else playing Lotto max?

Postby Howaboutthat » Fri Jul 30, 2010 3:19 pm

I was wondering how the jackpot could be getting so big. 50 million grand prize and 29 extra 1 million dollar prizes for tonight (Fri). I'm thinking it has to be the schmucks like me who don't usually buy tickets, but think the odds of winning take a huge jump (which of course they don't) when all these bonus draws are added.
Thoughts?
(BTW , I have the winning ticket! ;) )
And your cry baby, whiny-assed opinion would be...?

Lottos are a tax on the mathematically challenged, but I guess it's fun to dream...

If you don't play, If you don't buy - you :bag: are always a winner.

Jack, I wish you every success when you hit the big time. The odds about the same as getting hit by an Asteroid, while you are watching the Vancouver Canucks hoist the Stanley Cup for the tenth straight year.

Ever since I heard some talkshow host refer to the lottery as "a surtax on the stupid," I really slowed down on my buying ... maybe 2 a year, and that's mostly when some buddy embarrasses me publicly.

I hit the big time, once or was that three times at NW - but it was short lived.

My point was that I don't buy lottery tickets. I don't gamble. So far it has worked for me. :bag:

its fun to dream. $6 ain't too much. I don't drink like I used to and pissed (literally) way more money away than $6 a week.

If someone sucks through a pack a day, it is more than $6, so... one could buy a Max ticket per day in a concerted effort to kick the habit. The odds of winning would slighty improve to seven in 28 million.

The odds are stupid. But would you miss $2/week? If you can keep it under control, why not. Someone's gotta win.

I have to ask the obvious question.......what ever happened to live TV showing lottery numbers being drawn. Fanny Lamagerie from Montreal Trust....Tom Gibney being the MC? To me, seeing as I once, sadly, owned a lottery booth at the Vancouver International Airport, and lost my shirt to the cost of rent, staff, etc......the numbers game has changed, and not for the better. Seems all the so-called games are not what they once were. Maybe sour grapes true....but why are all the draws done in secret now??? Just thought I'd ask!

Point stands:)

I don't play, but I don't hold it against those who do.
