Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Team 1040 and JR are the big winners this time around. You think the Canucks "run for the cup" might have had something to do with it for Team 1040?

The jokes still fly about Team 1410's dismal ratings, but I'm sure they sell (to advertisers) the two together as if the Team was one radio station with a 7.2 SHARE.

Having not lived in the market since 1974, I have no idea what has given CJJR the big boost in the last few months.

It's a summer thing probably; their share jumped up into the mid-5's last year at this time too, and being the only country signal in town, they SHOULD be doing at LEAST this well all year round.

Could be a couple of the big haired Surrey chicks had PPM meters on while they were hanging around the JR booth lookin' for cowboys at the Cloverdal Rodeo.

Really what it is a general upward trend (or recovery of lost share) for the three major BC/Alberta urban market country FMs (JR, Cisn, Country 105) plus in the biggter picture across North America the country genre is hot now both with the music and with lots of media exposure

Even while Country continues to enjoy a large and loyal audience, country radio stations are still no more than replicants of any Pop/Rock stations -- Programming sucks.

Besides, isn't the format basically Pop Music -- With A Hat -itude....?

Here's a thought pave. Before you make a comment, take some time to listen to the station in question.
not every one is cookie cutter radio.
The programmers at CISL should be fired for breaking up a good format with all that talk crap.
And I still can't figure out why CFUN doesn't do much better. The music for the most part, is great.
Maybe this is a station that would so better without jocks?
Being nice is my resolve - in 2012
