Mel Kemmis out as PD at Z 95.3

Postby flyonthewall » Tue Jul 08, 2014 5:47 pm

After a not so stellar launch and very little notice of what's going on at the new Nat and Drewless Z 95.3, PD Mel Kemmis was wished well in his future endeavours earlier today.

This must be some kind of a new record. The ink was barely dry on his business cards. Replacing Kemmis is Paul Kaye from Newcap Top 40 AMP RAdio in Calgary.

Kaye is also National Director of Talent Development for Newcap Radio. He's more than got his work cut out for him on Horseshoe Way.

Sorry to hear about Mel. He's a good guy.

Always enjoyed scaring the heck out of him when he was doing overnites at KISS and I was in early to do the SRN/SBN news.

An Englishman takes a Canadian's gig - after 7 years service. Thanks Mel.

CORUS is Radio becoming radio OZ.

Where the hell is the CRTC?

4700 Canadian Media people have been gunned in the last 5 years, and these pigs hire foreign talent.

John Casady has a million shares of CORUS. It gives me great delight to see his shares worth 50% of what they were a year ago. Casady retires next year and he wants his million shares to be worth the max - so CUT, CHOP....slash.

This is radio?

It makes me sick.

Not sure what you mean. Corus shares closed at $24.29 on July 9, 2013, and $25.35 today. Between that increase and the 4.3% annual dividend, he made nearly nine percentage on his shares over the last 365 days.

On a million shares, that works out to $2.1 million.
