Lots of Pluto-related entries in the last little while on that NASA site.

the first sentence in the last paragraph caught my eye:
"We know more about the surface of Pluto now than we do about the sea floor off our own coast,"

The man has a great point. It would be interesting to compare the cost of mapping the sea floor against what it has cost to do hi-res pictures of the surface of the planets to date. I really do not know, but would not be surprised if it cost more to map the sea floor. Given how much has been spent looking for lost aircraft over the last few years.
