..and may I be the first of the many, I am sure, who will acclaim what an exceptional person he was to work with both professionally and personally.

One of my favourite co-workers, from the glory days on Ash Street.
George - have a long and fruitful retirement, you deserve it.
Thanks for being such a stalwart friend and man, you made us sound big city!

Sorry, but I cannot share the accolades. Many of us that were under his management as news director and had been subjected to his backstabbing and intimidation to get us to try and quit because he hadn't hired us, were happy to see him escorted out of the building. I hope he has a good retirement and never holds another management or consulting position.
Houston, We're dealing with morons!.

So, HAT, apparently you do give a damn, after all ? LOL

Here is the straight goods on GG. One of the best radio news deliveries, ever, in this country.

An instantly recognizable, major market news voice, disputed by no one,

However, a darker side, not limited to George Gordon,

As in, screw unto others, not very good at coaching or training others, especially those he did not hire.

I had a friend who worked with George at 'WX for three years. One day, George just brought him into his office and said, "you can't read (the news), you're fired !"

If George was any good in management, he would coach that employee to a new level. But no, after three years, GG thought he couldn't read ?

So yes, stay out of management, until you can treat others with respect ?

That said, many, many, news directors I have once worked with, suffer from George Gordon-it-is ?

Why do you think that is, HAT ?
