Today's Can-Con 45 is from 1970 ... Crowbar and "Oh What A Feeling" ...

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

One of the wildest groups I ever met.

Kelly Jay, the Bear of a lead singer, is a very nice fella.

They played the Cave, in 1979-80 or so. Oy, it was nuts.

I am sorry to hear that Kelly is having some health issues....I hope he gets better.

Incredible band. "Bad Manors" - the CD this tune is from, stands the test of time.

Daffodil Records had an eclectic roster that uniformly put out fabulous records--Crowbar, King Biscuit Boy (the late Richard Newell who also briefly fronted Crowbar), A Foot In Coldwater, Fludd and a pre-Red Rider Tom Cochrane. Oddly, no Daffodil recordings broke Stateside--a real headscratcher given the quality of the songs. Label boss Francis "Frank" Davies went on to a successful career in song publishing. Sorry to hear that Kelly Jay Fordham is ailing. I believe he endured tragedy many years ago when his daughter disappeared while visiting Asia. I always remember Crowbar gigs with fondness as Kelly would unfurl Canadian flags and carry the band's diminuitive guitarist on his broad shoulders.
