News About Trump on Canadian Media Getting Bit Too Much

Postby Coolcat » Sun Jul 02, 2017 11:45 pm

I don't know if its a matter of just no Canadian news because the country is boring or the abilities of newspeople nowadays don't extend past Twitter or Facebook status updates. I am tired of hearing the latest tweet from Trump be a main news item constantly on hourly newscasts throughout the week, on a Canada Day long weekend you would think the news media figured that US news about Trump's latest antics was all Canadians wanted to hear about.

It's not such a bad idea to be aware of what the guy who is all about shafting your country is up to, is it?

I believe the argument is volume. This is Canada, and there is local cancon news which on a value scale rates higher. Some people seem to understand there is a marketing machine behind `The Donald'. The `Us and Them' attitude, and there must always be a bad guy... many turn it all off, because if offsets their choices.

Smug America bashing is a favorite Canadian past time. While Trudeau is selling us out to China the Canadian corporate media is covering Trump's latest tweet. Between all the ads and the pathetic content it's just not worth my time.

Sounds to me more like inexperienced long weekend News staff at Canadian stations either forgetting or never knowing that many of the U.S. media outlets think that they have to inflate the importance of News stories that threaten the safety, rights or freedoms of the U.S. News Media.

Oh look, a car accident. Sure you’re going to slow down and look. Donald Trump is that car accident. Everyday he’s getting into a new one, so news media covers the accident. If they can get to it in time, any news outlet will cover a car accident. Just watch Vancouver or Toronto news. So, Canada will continue to cover the mistakes of a blundering stupid driver…ad nauseam.

I am with Bry.

I have tried to avoid "T" on the tube, but he even leads our newscasts.

The guy is a complete ignoramus.

The media is feeding into Trump`s craving for attention.Everything he does no matter how stupid makes the news even here.I`m sick of hearing him on the news and being the lead story.

Just go over to the other "radio" site if you want Trump coverage.

Plus the Easton Spectator is still looking for its first ever comment.

You forget how much Watergate had dominated our local news coverage back 43-44 years ago...
Either that, or you're not old enough to remember back that far... :-)
