CJIB calls return to Vernon

Postby flyonthewall » Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:36 am

Thanks to Dan Sys at Canadian Radio News for passing along the news that Pattison has brought back the CJIB call letters to 107.5 in Vernon replacing the CKIZ calls. The station is still branded as 107.5 KISS FM. Is this something they've done as part of the station's 70th Birthday or is there a pre or post Christmas format change about to happen? Stay tuned and Merry KISSmas.

Word is that they're going to flip to the Beach format tomorrow, like Pattison's 103.1 did recently in Kelowna. This is a mystifying move by programming guru Winters as KISS has long dominated the market in the North Okanagan. Hope everyone get to keep their jobs this time.

With snow in the forecast, Vernon has a new Beach! At 12 Noon today, KISS FM went away and Vernon's New 107.5 Beach Radio was launched as the CJIB calls returned to the Vernon airwaves.

First tune on The Beach was "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
