Adler sounds different

Radio News from British Columbia

Heard Charles Adler on CKNW doing a spot for some eyeglass company. His voice - compared to what he sounds like on his radio show - was completely different.

I know that on his program they keep the compression on him cranked up into the stratosphere, but still, listening to the spot & his show, it' hard to believe it's the same guy.

What a phoney blowhard.

He doesn't need compression to be a phoney blowhard, he can manage that all on his own. The few times that I have tuned into him he does sound overly compressed and probably eq'd.

I always thought he just had a speech impediment that really gets out of control when he gets excited.

Well, I know the pomposity level around the city really climbs when he goes on the air at 1pm.

Oh, by the way, did I refer to him as a blowhard? I meant to say gasbag.

Sorry for the confusion.
