Changes to Vancouver radio ...

1410 rebrands as Bloomberg Radio

Roundhouse Radio either goes dark or investors decide to keep it going (BTW, Bruce Allen discussed RHR on his rant today, referring to it as low frequency radio).

Team 1040 rejigs programming to accommodate the popular Dan Patrick and Jim Rome shows from 1410.

Will News 1130 keep its Bloomberg business segments?

Kinda wish Bruce had devoted a Reality Check to Roundhouse a week or so back, when it might have piqued the interest of a potential philanthropist. Better late than never, though. And given editorializing about another station is ipso facto giving publicity to the competition, glad that Bruce even brought up the topic on CKNW.

Bruce’s point was that Roundhouse’s founding principle, focussing on Vancouver and the North Shore, seemed sound. That it didn’t work might be due to more than the weak signal. Instead, if I understood Bruce correctly, maybe it means Vancouverites aren’t really that hungry for non-stop news and analysis of their city.
