The future of NW

Radio News from British Columbia

I can safely say this Erin is cuter than I am...what she sounds like, I may never know. I will admit I occasionally listen to Adler in the afternoon, but that's now about it with NW. And, its getting less all the time.

I suggested to Plasteras some months ago that I would make a damned good replacement for some of their talk hosts. I never heard back...guess he thought otherwise. Dumb fellow.

I probably should just let it go, but I decided to at least ask Sarah some
questions about her resume on the other board. It's not a huge thing but it
strikes a bit of a chord with me for some reason. I had to work for 2 years
to complete the BCIT course, then spent 8 years (seasons) in the interior and
on the praries. I wondered if I would ever even MAKE IT to a major market,
let alone start there. It seems like the so called "paying your dues" is just
for suckers now, I know times are different, but there was something about her
tone that indicated she thought it was okay to skip all these steps, and that hurts
a bit. I know, it ain't the Middle East.

John -

Perhaps you just caught him on a bad day.

Why not try calling him again - but this time, casually let it slip that that you are a graduate of Queens University.

Good luck!

May not be Queens, but am a grad in Business Admin from United College in Winnipeg.
That honoured institution is now the University of Winnipeg.

Well, my momma always said I had a great face for radio :)

Thanks for the feedback. The experience has given me a whole new appreciation for the job. Like most things in life - it ISN'T as easy as it looks! That combined with extreme nervousness made rather a botch of the first couple of shows. I think it was better by last Sunday (my 4th).

But don't fear - they haven't asked me back yet...

Best,
Erin

Erin -

Kudos to you for posting to this board despite the criticism leveled at you.

Indeed, it shows character and modesty at the same time.

give me his address and I will send hash brownies

that way he won't have to break wind with cartie and smoke a weed

I can see cartie and sykes at hastings park sharing a brownie and the entire
crowd saying...... "what's up doc?"

You're right - it might have been better with grass... Hmmm.

And thanks.

Best,
Erin

Getting back to the topic, NW's future, I'm wondering what others envision that might be?

I don't happen to think that the consortium of management dunces currently parking their asses on the 20th floor know, or even care about what comes next.

I do, however, believe that they're not through with the cutbacks just yet.

If anyone reading this can point out an example of anything in the last five years that NW management has done to improve the on-air quality of the station, please post it here.
