A freak accident last week was responsible for the dismissal of CKNW HR Business Manager Millie Bong according to general manager J.J. Jonestown.
After composing an email to the promotion department's Crosby McWilly informing him that his services were no longer required, Bong hit the send button and left her office. When the email message reached McWilly's newly-pimped PC, it ricocheted off his custom-built firewall and bounced back to Bong's computer.
When Bong returned from a coffee break, she checked her email, read the message that had come back to her as undeliverable, and promptly fired herself.
She then phoned downstairs requesting that Security escort her out of The Black Tower.
"It was a close call," said McWilly - referred to by his colleagues as "The Teflon Yawn" for his ability to pass the workday dozing in his office without detection, - "I'm just glad it's over."
A visibly shaken Jonestown added, "It was a tragedy that no one could have predicted."
Later that day, a CKNW inter-office memo was sent out appointing McWilly HR Business Manager for Corus Entertainment's Vancouver cluster.
