Ernie Rose RIP

07/11/08 - Ernie Rose, former VP Engineering at CHAN-TV/8 Vancouver (later BCTV and now Global) died today at age 92. He served as announcer/technician then Chief Engineer at CKMO Vancouver from 1934-40, operator/technician then assistant technical director at CBC Vancouver during the 1940-50s and oversaw construction of CHAN-TV in the late 1950s. He was the recipient of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Engineering Award in 1973 and the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters Broadcaster of the Year Award in 1980. He retired as BCTV Vice President of Engineering in 1981.
