Ron Stiles, an american, worked in the CKNW newsroom for many years

He was a quiet man - a steady man - but with health problems that plagued his
life

I ran into Ron and his wife a few years ago at Bellis Fair in Bellingham. I thought about Rom last Sunday when I took the scenic route through Ferndale on my way home from "the Ham".

Prior to NW, Ron worked at the legendary CKLW in Windsor where he was part of the 20/20 news team.

Just found this in The Bellingham Herald:

Ronald "Ron" Stiles age 56 of Bellingham, passed away at his home Saturday, July 29, 2006.

Arrangements are pending with
Jerns Funeral Chapel &
On Site Crematorium
of Bellingham

Damn.....another good newsman gone. Great voice, but the smarts to go with it.
Too young.

Sorry to hear of Ron's passing.

Used to cross paths with him occasionally in the 'NW lunchroom at 8th & McBride.

Nice guy.

Damn, T. Dog. Thanks for the note. I was thinking of Ron on Friday when I was ranting to some co-workers about the state of radio newsrooms today.

His wife was super-nice as well.
