Chuck Davis Update

Postby radiofan » Thu Oct 28, 2010 5:02 pm

From an email sent out by Chuck's wife earlier today to Jim Morrison ...

Chuck went in to Surrey Memorial Hospital early Wednesday with excruciating pain. Something to do with a “stangulated hernia” and an operation he had 2 and a half years ago which required immediate surgery.

In his wife Edna’s words: “I agreed to his surgery, even though they told me that he might die on the operating table, as his blood pressure was very low. I felt that if he didn’t have the surgery that he would die anyway. Well he survived the surgery and is now in the intensive care ward. They are aware that he does not want to be resuscitated if he has a heart attack. He was really out of it when we visited him in the intensive care ward later, as he had had a horrendous day.”
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Hi Jack,
I should have read over my message to Gord Lansdell about Chuck Davis'
medical crisis before punching "send". Chuck had a "strangulated hernia" -
not whatever I wrote.
Is it possible to make a correction on the post?
Thanks,
Jim Morrison

You just did and I shall pass your message on to Gord and radiofan at Radiowest.

"Just an update. I guess that I was waiting for him to start getting better, and today the nurse tells me that he is a lot more alert. He is doing most of his breathing on his own, but is still on the ventilator. He is no longer requiring blood pressure medication, and they are hearing tummy sounds, which is a good sign. His sister and brother-in-law arrived from Hawaii on Friday to visit him, and they are staying for a week. Thank goodness he is getting better and moving in the right direction. Will keep in touch."
