Tuned, I'm not sure that the survey you linked to proves much of anything. I'd be surprised if a survey of "listeners", implying that they still use radio, didn't come out positive. Although I wonder if the 25% who said that they weren't satisfied are just hanging around for the Rapture, or just really get off on hating their choice of media.

Anyway, it's a soft-headed, well paid for survey, kinda like the kind used by governments.

Radio music programming is firmly stuck in the past. Record labels (in North America) are firmly stuck in the past, promoting guitar based music. Because radio plays what the labels give them and because the (North American) labels are promoting an outdated sound, radio has become irrelevant to the under 20 generation. An industry based organization/publication such as Radio and Records would of course prefer to promote the status quo.

The irony is the R&R article seems to be getting lost. I think the article is crap.
