Radio West Spring 2019 GTG - May 5th

Postby radiofan » Wed Apr 17, 2019 9:09 pm

It's time for another Radio West GTG ...

At the RPM lunch two weeks ago, once again several people suggested it was time to do another RW GTG. Sooo, the time has come ... Sunday May 5th 11AM - 2PM (or whenever) at The Village Pub in Southeast Vancouver.

7725 Champlain Crescent in the Champlain Heights area. This great neighbourhood pub is run by a radio guy, Chris Larke (Chief Engineer at Bell Vancouver) and his wife Mary..

Hope to see the regulars along with some new faces on the 5th!

If you plan to attend, pls post a reply to this post. As always, drive bys and non members are welcome!

Plenty of notice and, for once, I’m not involved with performing in a play. I might actually be able to make this one.

Gonna try, but this spring seems particularly busy for some reason. Hopefully will pop over by Harbour Air from the island... Cheers!

 Have not been at the coast for several years - tried to determine when last trip made

in Jan of 2018 had cataract surgery which gave me 20/20 vision - no glasses for driving and walking

a bit of reading glasses

But I developed an anxiety response to driving at heights - something that bothered me back in 1995 in the Kootenays - cannot clinically define it.

It is a fear of ongoing traffic I don't control while in a lane or lanes that I can control.

The up shot - I can drive within about 50 miles of my home and still a bit scared ( is that a manly word ) of going beyond. I live a full life and would love to see Ted, sykes ghost, and the fab four at the next GWG.... butt.

Now if we could agree on Manning Park Lodge or even Hopeless Café that might be different. :occasion5:

Maybe we could get the Flat Earther's Society section @ Rolly's Restaurant in Hope!

Manning Park and Spuzzum are out of the question, we'd be beyond Hope!

Last min circumstances prevented me, sadly. I emailed Jim Morrison as fyi.

Hopefully next time, if I'm in town. Good pics.
