I see that Paul has recently added his name to the members list here.

Paul has (or "had"; I guess he's retired from radio) one of the smoothest production voices around and I still fondly remember his Canadiana features on CFMI.

Is this not Paul Preston from Edmonton and not the local PP?

The MediaList was created by Paul Preston, a marketing specialist with over 25 years in the media. Paul worked as a radio announcer, moved into promotions and finally settled into marketing, with a penchant for sales-related marketing. A Rotarian and past-president of his community league, Paul’s list of marketing successes is long, highlighted by his volunteerism with such organizations as The Alberta Winter Games, the National Organization for Victim’s Assistance, the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation (Teddy Bear Picnic) and the Imagine Campaign. Paul earned his CMM from the Radio Marketing Bureau.

Yes, I can confirm that this is J. Paul Preston of Edmonton.

It can be really confusing, as CKNW/CFMI Paul was born in Alberta, and started as an Operator at CFRN in Edmonton. Here is his mini-bio from EdmontonBroadcasters.com/VancouverBroadcasters.com:
Paul Preston - Operator then announcer all-nights CFRN Edmonton beginning July 1, 1961; CJDV Drumheller; CJOC Lethbridge; Calgary; announcer CFAX Victoria 1968; announcer CFUN/CKVN Vancouver 1968-70; announcer weekends & production CKNW New Westminster 1970-82; Canadiana/mid morning voice tracking CFMI-FM New Westminster 1972-82; Production Manager CKNW/CFMI-FM 1982-99. Retired. Born in Three Hills, Alberta in June 1942.

I'm currently working with J. Paul to get his bio info on EdmontonBroadcasters.com.

Ok must have been too much drugs and rock and roll. I am confused. Which Paul Preston is which? Sounds like you are talking about both.

Thanks Jon. I was wondering where Paul Preston, of the media list, had gone. We kinda worked side by side on some projects when he was doing CFRN promotions. Nice to see he is still around.
