If you were a CKNW listener in 1963, you may recall a promotion they did in which a Maharajah was planning to buy BC. As I recall he drove around town and handed out all kinds of cash to people in stores, on the street etc.Part of the promotion included this song by NW's Bobby Hughes pleaing with then premier W.A.C. Bennett to not sell B.C...CKNW Maharajah SongDo ya think the lyrics would work today?
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Wasn't the Maharaja the infamous Rene Castellani?? aka the Milkshake Murderer?
I seem to remember him driving around town in a huge black Caddy handing out money while dressed as the Maharajah.
