From the Radio West archives, a scoped aircheck of the first Murray (Sherriffs) and Dave (Rutherford) Good Morning Calgary show from
February 11, 1985. On this aircheck, you'll also hear Vern Koop and Angela Kokott (News), Dale Sande and Peter Maher (sports), Rick Hall (traffic),
a phoner from Norm Edwards (who debuted on QR in Afternoon Drive one week later), some interview segments and music!

As Dave got into the "Entertainment" side of the biz, he remained News Director. Following GMC, Dave Co-Hosted mornings on the station until
1992 with Norm Edwards, Greg Haraldson, Jim Jeffries and Danusia Smith. In March of 1992 the station moved to a News/Talk format. Dave has
hosted talk shows on the station since that switch, mainly in the (9AM - Noon slot) on QR and sister station CHED in Edmonton.

Dave's last day on the air was to have been July 26th, but due to some technical incompetence, The Rutherford Show ended on June 25th, 2013.

Here's some memories of Murray and Dave and Good Morning Calgary from 28 years ago ... Murray and Dave First GMC Show
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

No one can complain about missing Dave on QR since he was punted. He can still be heard endlessly shilling for sponsors, including a gem that begins: "This is Dave Rutherford. I'm proud to be an individual and you should be proud to be an individual too. That's why when you need tile you should go to . . . ."

FWIW: I think fill-in guy John Bolton has been doing a pro job (with no product endorsements!).
