From the RadioWest aircheck archives -

We remember the late John Clark with an aircheck of the C-JAY 92 afternoon drive show. John died, from cancer, on March 27th. He posted as bassman1 here on RadioWest - https://www.radiowest.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2898

John started his radio career in 1970 at CHNL Kamloops while also attending what was then called Cariboo College, now known as Thompson Rivers University. In May of 1974, he joined CKXL Calgary and hosted the midday show. John remained there until July 1982 when he moved up the hill to CJAY Calgary. He spent most of his time at C-JAY 92 hosting middays until the station switched to a classic rock format which saw John move to afternoon drive.

After his time at C-JAY, John was heard playing music weekend afternoons in the mid-'90s on CHQR Calgary. He briefly returned to on air work in the city at 660 News in 2008. More about his working life can be found on his LinkedIn profile - https://ca.linkedin.com/in/john-clark-3967a5a0

Here's John, with newsman Gary Rozak and sportscaster Mark Neustaedter, in September 1992 on Classic Rock C-JAY 92 - https://soundcloud.com/radiowestdotca/j ... er-25-1992

You can also hear a bit of John's CKXL on air work on a 1977 CKXL/CFCN composite from RadioWest friend and contributor, Sharkey (Mark Summers) - https://www.radiowest.ca/forum/viewtopi ... 19&t=15809
