We remember Seattle radio legend, the late Pat O'Day on soft adult contemporary 96.5 KKMI Seattle. Joining Pat are Kevin Ross with the news, Jack Rebney and his commentary while Dennis Wills has the sports and traffic -

Pat O'Day was born Paul W. Berg in Norfolk, Nebraska. He reached the peak of his on air success as the afternoon host on Seattle's KJR 950 in the 1960s, he would go on to become the station's program director and general manager. In addition to concert promotions, he was also a radio station owner (KYYX/KKMI/KXA). Pat was also a hydroplane race announcer and commentator during Seafair on various Seattle radio and tv stations.

He is a member of the permanent disc jockey exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. And was featured in the Cruisin' series for 1966 with a recreation of his KJR afternoon show.

Today KKMI is known as 96.5 JACK FM (KJAQ since May 2005), it launched as KLSN in 1959. Becoming KYAC in 1973, KYYX in 1977, KKMI in 1984, KQKT in 1985, KXRX in 1987, KYCW in 1994, KYPT in 1999, and KRQI in 2004.
