Today he's the voice of Global BC, In the 60's and 70's he was a morning guy at Edmonton's CJCA and then moved west to CKLG and CFUN. For much of the 80's, JIM HAULT handled weekends and fill-in at CKNW.

From December 12, 1986, here's Jim filling in for Rick Honey on CKNW's Road Show [click here]

--------------------

In the late 1980's 1040 KICKS, CKXY Vancouver challenged CKLG for the Top 40 market...The station sounded great, but just couldn't get the numbers!

Here's MIKE DONOVAN in PM Drive from June 26th 1989 at 1040 KICKS ... CKXY [click here]

"The Duck" was never Jim's idea.

Some are born to ducks
Some achieve ducks
Some have ducks thrust upon them.

Wow! Thanks for putting up that aircheck! I don't think I have a copy of it! Brought back a lot of memories. Kicks was a great station to work at. But the timing to switch on a new "AM" radio station was bad. AM erosion had started years before ... so it was kind of a losing situation.
Again, thanks for the aircheck!

Excellent to hear Jim Hault's voice again.

Strange how some things stick with you over time, and be so vivid ... whenever I hear "Blackbyrds - Walking In Rhythm" I can picture myself walking into the CFUN control room, seeing Jim in the studio, and that song on the monitors out of a jingle with no intro. It was a nice warm, sunny morning, and morale was high at CFUN.

Actually ... I did the all night show back when Jim was doing the morning show at CFUN. I worked there from the summer of 1975 through to 1978. And it was because of Jim's little voice characters (like Mr. CFUN and other characters) that I got interested in doing voice characters on the air. Now I'm living in LA doing animation VoiceOver work for a living. Hats off to Jim! A great talent!
