Transmitter site question

Postby radiofan » Mon Sep 08, 2014 11:55 am

The other day I was travelling east on Highway 1 between Chestermere and Strathmore. On the north side of the highway is what appears to be an AM TX site, two towers.

Is this the new CBC 1010 site? I thought it was a bit farther north.

Definately not the Q 91 site, I saw that east of Strathmore.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

According to radio-locator.com, CBR-1010 would be what you were looking at.

Just East of the Highway 9 North exit off the Trans-Canada.

Two towers, almost parallel to Highway 1, fairly close to the road.

I think CKDQ still actually has a backlit sign on the outside of their building right off Highway 1?

Oh the things I would do to get a tour inside that building. Been listening to CKDQ lots since the closure of CKKY which I still haven't fully gotten over yet...

TRENT310 if you ever manage to get into CKDQ's plant, turn the AM Stereo back on and ease up on the compression.
