Syd Smith & "Winger" are guest hosting mid-mornings this week. The new lineup begins next Monday, January 12th, but there was a sneak peek of the PM Drive show this afternoon.

630 CHED Announces New Talk Show Lineup

The Ryan Jespersen Show debuts Monday, January 12, 2015

Seasoned broadcaster Ryan Jespersen will host the 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. MT time slot. An Alberta native, Ryan has extensive experience in both radio and television, spending the last nine years at Citytv in Edmonton. In 2009, Ryan was featured on Avenue magazine’s inaugural list of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40. The Ryan Jespersen Show promises to be destination tuning for Edmontonians in search of news and informed opinions.
All of us that are part of The 630 CHED Afternoon News are thrilled to welcome Andrew Grose back to his original spot on 630 CHED. We can’t forget to send a huge shout out to Mark Scholz. It was a brief, but fun, time for him here and we wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future!

That said, we’ll start off today’s show with a taste of what the future will hold! Andrew Grose will join J’lyn Nye in studio to talk about the new show and news of the day.

"Rutherford retired. That's the absolute truth." - Andrew Grose

What a joke his explanation is. Starting with his opening statements. Rutherford was about to retire but was removed from the air. His career ended early when he was pulled off instantly due to his comments about Corus coverage of Calgary's flood. It was a firing. See Rutherford's own Twitter posts from the time if proof is needed. But Grose says it himself. He isn't a news, facts, research guy so we can't really expect accurate coverage from him.

What he references about his love of Afternoon News is accurate but has nothing to do with the format or time slot. He knows that. That is the explanation and truth that can't and won't be told with this radio change.
